That’s the foundation underneath an ambitious set of “raising the bar” recommendations presented earlier this month to President John Peters, Provost Ray Alden and the Council of Deans by members of NIU’s two strategic planning task forces.

for lessons in U.S. democracy

NIU will welcome a diverse group of 30 adult leaders from the Philippines who will arrive on campus Saturday, May 31, for a month-long institute on the American democratic process.

The Cultural Citizens and North-South Dialogue project will focus on majority-minority relations in the Philippines and the responsibilities of citizens in a democratic, plural society.

Parking Services announces fee increaseParking Services announces fee increase

Parking Services has announced that parking fees for faculty and staff will increase by $15 for the 2008-2009 academic year and $10 per permit for students.

The increase will boost the annual cost of a blue, non-reserved parking permit to $100 a year and a reserved permit to $575.
