Research Interests and Lab Capabilities

  • Experimental: Preparation and characterization of bulk samples, single-crystals and thick films of oxide materials using unique high oxygen pressure techniques. Structural study of copper and manganese oxides using x-ray and neutron diffraction measurements. Resistivity, magnetization, magnetoresistive and thermogravimetric measurements.
  • Theoretical: Modeling and computation of single particle and collective properties of correlated systems using Green's functions, linear response theory, spin and density functional theory, and Landau theory of structural phase transformations).
