Three physics faculty received awards in 2009. Michel van Veenendaal was named as a Presidential Research Professor, Steve Martin was named as a Presidential Teaching Professor and Dave Hedin was named as a Board of Trustees Professor. Martin and Hedin had previously been named as Presidential Research Professors. Additional information on their activities can be found on their web pages.
The Department recognized Jim Younkin as its outstanding Ph.D. student, Steve Boona as its outstanding M.S. student, Alex Lee as its outstanding TA, and Nathan Cooper as its outstanding undergraduate.
